The Newcomers Club of San Dieguito is a welcoming community in northern San Diego county committed to fostering friendships through a variety of fun activities and experiences.

Our Club Background

 

It is not always easy to find and foster new friends when you have recently moved into an area or have recently gone through a major life change. Recognizing this, a group of caring women established the San Dieguito area’s Welcome Wagon over 50 years ago. They called on new homeowners and gifted them a basket of coupons from local stores and merchants.

 

Welcome Wagon closed down by 2000, but the need to welcome and support people new to the area, as well as those who recently experienced recent life changes, remained. In response, the Newcomers Club of San Dieguito was formed in 2000. Instead of delivering coupons, the Club became social - dedicated to fun, education and community service. As a result, the membership grew to over 400 active members and fostered many deep and abiding friendships over the years.

 

We are delighted and proud to see the impact the club has had over a generation - building community, bringing together friends, and supporting each other through life changes. In July 2023 we restructured the club, spinning off the North County Social Club for members who are no longer "newcomers" and launching the "new" Newcomers Club of San Dieguito so that we can welcome new members. The Club will continue to be a welcoming, vibrant, fun, social, educational, and service-oriented organization going forward!
